Read full review →If your environment has constant noise (traffic, office, air conditioning), active cancellation (ANC) makes a huge difference. Passive isolation (a good closed cushion) already blocks plenty for quiet spaces. To focus in a noisy place, ANC is the best investment.
For full days, a well-padded closed over-ear almost always wins: better isolation and more comfortable for many hours. In-ears are discreet and portable, but few last eight hours without bothering you.
They sound great for music, but their call microphone is usually only decent. If you live in meetings and your priority is sounding crisp, a headset with a boom (cardioid) mic beats any consumer headphone. Look for Teams or Zoom certification.
